This is the last pic taken of Mike and Dawg. We took it the same day as the family portrait. Thanks for rescuing my baby puppy Terry.
This a pic that Mike took out of the car window for obvious reasons. How gorgeous is this?!
This is a pic that Maca sent me. He must have been talking to her because of the big smile. He’s such a cutie pie!
If you don’t know who Plank is watch Ed, Edd, and Eddie on Cartoon Network. We took him places and took pics. Mike recorded special events in Plank’s life on the back, one of which is the passing of Big Don. He loved that man so much. I wish I could find the other pics at Innis. We took Plank to the movies with us too. Mike was so freakin funny! All he wanted for his birthday last year was a Plank. My Dad helped me make him.
I want to thank all of you who are members and who loved Mike. Posting stuff here is really theraputic for me. I miss him terribly as I am sure you all do as well. It helps me to be able to share him with you all. He was such an amazing man… I will love him until I die and after.
This is a picture of our last Christmas together as a family. Dawg had a favorite toy named Duck that would quack some tune. Her Dad played with her so rough that Duck was destroyed despite my be seamstress efforts.
This last Christmas I was in Dollar General and I heard the same quacking that Duck had. I found a different toy that made the same sounds and Dawg LOVED that toy!
She still has it! Santa on the other hand was sacrificed to Puppy’s and Daddy’s terrible play habits… He only lasted one day…
I met Mike in Jan 2002. Summer 2002 he did something that made me know I loved him.
He had found an add in Ironton for an X-11 for sale (his favorite car, God only knows why), but he had a master plan. The plan was for me to dress very sexy-sophisticated to intimidate/distract the salesguy. Anyway, the car was a piece of crap, so he didn’t buy it. He almost bought another car though that had naked ladies painted all over it, but it had a bee’s nest in it, so he changed his mind.
The sweet part is that my Grandmother (Mamu) is buried in Ironton. We stopped at the Hart’s and bought some flowers to plant at her grave. After we checked out the crappy cars, we found the cemetery. It was HOT AS HELL that day, and my dumb ass did not bring a shovel. Mike and I had to use a tire iron to dig the holes to plant the flowers at my Mamu’s grave! We had to rinse off in the drinking fountain.
Once it was done and we were back on the road, I broke down. Mike pulled off to the side of the road and just held me and cried with me. He didn’t know how hard that was for me. When I knew that he would do that for me, that is when I knew that I was in love with him.
The picture that is attached is from Christmas 2005. Mike did not feel well. I had made decorations for my Grandparents graves, and he was totally there for me. We drove to Ironton again and decorated the graves. Mike took the pics and he was very proud of the one of the little girl, which is an excellent photograph. Mike was a very good photographer even if he didn’t know it.
He is such a beautiful man…
this is the pic that Mike took in the cemetary.
I am a Christian and I know that Jesus did not abandon Mike when he most in need of Him. But I do struggle with how Jesus could let some people live and take someone as good and wonderful as Mike. I am angry and Jesus and I have had some serious fights about this. I trust Jesus, and I know that He did not let go of Mike. But I am still angry that He let others live who are in NO WAY worthy of Michael. It is a struggle that I will have for a very long time. Mike was too good and too young to die such a painful and humiliating death…
Mike’s parents came and took Mike’s car to the farm today. If anyone knows the license plate was C0FIN or something very close. We always called the big black LTD the COFFIN. We intended to make the trunk a kind of travelling bed but never got around to it. Anyway, Bob and Joan drove it away today. That was kind of hard. Dawg jumped up in the front seat like Daddy was gonna take her for a ride and bark at Negroes…
